MORE THOUGHTS ON DIVINE HEALING

In chapter eleven of my new book, THE FINAL TEST, I deal rather extensively with the matter of divine healing.  I do not desire to repeat what I said there, but only to suggest an additional thought.

In THE FINAL TEST I pointed out that it is always God’s will to heal.  We show doubt about the compassion of his father’s heart when we pray, “Dear Lord, please heal if it be thy will.”  The leper said, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me well again.”  Jesus replied, “I want to.  Be healed.”

Then, if it is always God’s will to heal us, should not the results of healing prayer be consistent?

CHOOSING A PHYSICIAN

Today the outcome of an illness may depend on the expertise of the physician handling the case.  The abilities of physicians vary widely, so choose carefully.  But what if my financial resources are limited?  Maybe I can’t afford to fly to Rochester and enter the Mayo Clinic.  Then what?  Also, some of the best physicians are so busy they refuse to take on new patients.

Good news.  The Great Physician has infinite skills, and is willing to handle any case faithfully placed in his hands.  Because of this, the outcome always will be one of four possibilities:

1.      Instant, miraculous healing.

2.      Divine healing over time.

3.      Perfect healing—in the twinkling of an eye—for those alive when Christ returns.

4.      Perfect healing for those resurrected when Christ returns.

The Christian always can face illness with confidence and courage.  Once you turn your case over to the Great Physician, the answer to your request for healing is always a divine “yes.”
